James Avenue will be closed for roadwork for a few days

September 3, 2014
A pavement repairs and resurfacing project will begin on James Avenue in Covington on Monday, September 8.

Work will occur between 30th Street and Madison Avenue. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to exercise caution and watch for lane closures, traffic control devices, flaggers, construction personnel and equipment entering and leaving the work zone.

Beginning Friday, September 12th at 8 PM until Monday, September 15th at 6 AM, James Avenue will be closed between East 31st Street and Eastern Avenue.



Northbound KY 16 traffic wishing to use James Avenue will be directed to turn left onto Howard Litzler Drive. Traffic will then turn right onto Madison Pike and proceed north. The detour will end at the intersection of Madison Avenue and KY 16.

Local traffic only will be provided access to James Avenue from this point.

Traffic wanting to go south on James Avenue will be directed to Madison Avenue and turn left onto Howard Litzler Drive. The detour will end at Winston Avenue. Local traffic wishing to access James Avenue will then turn left onto Winston Avenue.
