open today on Sixth Street

Bring a friend and come on over this Saturday to see what the farmers at the Covington Market have to offer. Fresh fruits and vegtables for sale along the Sixth Street Promenade in MainStrasse today, until about 2 pm.


80% of city's budget
is for staffing expenses

Among staff is a full-time preservationist with a staff which duplicates the code enforcement office and a newly-hired person who heads a department called Renaissance Covington which duplicates the city's public information office.


Covington urban ministry
wants to open 'Dream Center'

Food, water, and prayer - volunteers will be delivering all three throughout Covington Saturday. "We just want people to know that God loves them, and we hope that Jesus touches some lives," said David Hills, an urban missionary and leader of Urban Outreach NKY/Cincinnati.

Kenton County Fiscal Court passed an ordinance 3-1 designating county commissioners as part-time rather than full-time employees June 22.

The owner of two Covington bikini bars and three of her dancers had their first hearing Thursday on misdemeanor charges that they engaged in sexually oriented entertainment without proper permits.


Covington debates how to
handle building, zoning permits

The Covington City Commission on Thursday continued to debate how the city will provide electrical inspections starting July 1, and will call a special meeting next week to put the final pieces in place before the city starts handling its own building and zoning permits.

Covington road crews have started to remove street signs such as "No Loud Noise" and "Children at Play."
