When it snows, Devou Park is the perfect spot for sledding

When it finally snows kids know where to go -- Devou Park for sledding, innertubing and snowboarding.

The late Ron Einhaus took this photo of kids -- and adults -- enjoying
the snow at Devou Park.

Hundreds of people -- many with their dogs -- trek up the hill to the bandstand area and let 'er slide.

And it's not just the kids and dogs, as the KY Post pointed out. Rebekah Butler brought her two kids out for the day and didn't hesitate to get in on the action.

"Somebody has to carry the sled back up the hill," Butler joked following a snow storm last year.

Sledders as young as three years-old were also out conquering the park's various hills.

Greg Ashcraft brought his sons sledding on one of those days when even the temperature was perfect, but after a few hours of climbing the hill he was ready to call it a day.

"Going home and taking naps," Ashcraft told The Post. "We're going to go home and relax after this. It's tiring walking up the hill."

Park officials encourage sledders to have an adult supervising them when on the hill.

They also want sledders to wear helmets.

Offering one of the best places to enjoy the snow, Devou Park sledding is definitely part of our awesome collection of Covington Cools!
