According to a recent Cincinnati Enquirer article, Covington projects a $2.7 million deficit for the new fiscal year which begins on July 1.
The city wants input from residents during a series of commission meetings, beginning this Thursday, June 3rd, at 4 pm at the city hall chambers. Other dates are June 15, June 22 and June 24 at the same time.
The Covington City Commission is facing tough decisions on the new fiscal year budget
"These budget reductions will be visible to people," City Manager Larry Klein noted in the Enquirer article. "Hopefully it is a one year thing. When things are better, we can look at restoring a lot of those things"
Klein emphasized that layoffs of personnel would be done as a last resort.
